The male end threads directly into your female port, and the female end receives whatever JIC male fitting is coming off your line. For a straight connection, it matches 3/4-16 male JIC 37 degree flare on one end and 3/4-16 female JIC 37 degree flare on the other. Both ends are SAE 37 flare, so it is meant to mate with standard JIC 37 degree flare seats.
