got a port that’s 3/4-14 npt on one side and an ORS hose end on the other, is this the right adapter to tie them together?

For tying an SAE O-Ring Face Seal male connection to a male NPT connection in a straight, inline run, this adapter matches that job. It has a 1-14 male SAE ORS thread on one end and a 3/4-14 male NPT thread on the other, so it is meant to bridge those two thread types in the same assembly.

Will this here adapter work to hook up a SAE O-ring fitting to a regular NPT pipe thread?

That's exactly what this Eaton Aeroquip adapter is designed to do: connect a 1-14 Male SAE O-Ring Face Seal (ORS) thread to a 3/4-14 Male NPT thread. It lets you join those two different kinds of fittings together.

Got a port on my hydraulic manifold that's 3/4-14 NPT and I need to tie into a SAE ORS line coming off the pump, this adapter cover that situation?

That's what this one's built for. One end is 1-14 Male SAE O-Ring Face Seal, the other is 3/4-14 Male NPT, and it runs straight through with no angle offset. The ORS end seals against the face using a metal-to-metal contact with an O-ring, so you get a tighter, more leak-resistant connection than a standard pipe thread alone would give you. As long as your manifold port is a female 3/4-14 NPT and your hose or tube fitting is a female 1-14 ORS, this adapter drops right into that gap.
