got a port on a manifold block that's SAE O-ring boss, 7/16-20 thread, and I need to branch off to two JIC 37 degree flare lines from it. this the right fitting for that?

That's exactly the application this tee adapter covers. One end threads into your 7/16-20 SAE O-ring boss port, and the run and branch outlets are both 7/16-20 male JIC 37 degree flare, so you can split off to two JIC lines right at the port without adding extra fittings in between. It's part of the Eaton Aeroquip 203005 series and carries catalog number C1AX62 if you need to cross-reference it on your end.
