trying to swap an old fitting out, is this one the straight ORB to JIC flare adapter with 1-1/16-12 on one end and 7/8-14 on the other?

It’s a straight steel adapter that goes from a 1-1/16-12 male SAE O-ring boss (straight thread O-ring) end to a 7/8-14 male JIC 37 degree flare end. Those are also commonly called 12M ORB x 10M J.

Got a port on a hydraulic block that's tapped 1-1/16-12 ORB and I need to run a JIC line off it. This the right piece for that?

That's exactly what this adapter is built for. One end is 1-1/16-12 male SAE O-Ring Boss, the other is 7/8-14 male JIC 37 degree flare, and it runs straight through with no angle. The O-ring boss end seals at the thread, so as long as your block has a female ORB port and your hose or tube fitting is a female JIC, you're good to go.
