trying to hook a JIC hose end up to an ORB port, is this the right adapter?

For that hookup, it matches a 3/4-16 male SAE O-Ring Boss on one end and a 3/4-16 female JIC 37 degree flare swivel on the other, in a straight steel adapter.

Got a port on a hydraulic manifold that's SAE O-ring Boss and need to run a JIC line off it, this straight adapter gonna work for that?

That's exactly the application this fitting covers. The male end threads into the SAE O-ring Boss port using a 3/4-16 straight thread, and the female JIC swivel on the other end accepts a standard 3/4-16 JIC 37-degree flare line. The swivel feature on the JIC side keeps things from binding up when you're torquing down the hose assembly, which saves a lot of grief during installation.
