what industries is this plug actually rated for? trying to figure out if it'll hold up in a chemical processing setup or if that's pushing it

Chemical processing is one of the listed applications for this fitting, along with marine, military, pulp and paper, food and beverage, and offshore drilling. Those are demanding environments, so the plug was built with that kind of exposure in mind. For chemical processing specifically, Eaton Aeroquip does publish a fluid compatibility document for this product line if you need to verify against a specific media.
