got a hose end that’s 2-1/2-12 JIC, and the port on the tank is 2-11-1/2 NPT. is this the straight adapter for that?

For that thread combo, yes. It is a straight steel adapter with a 2-11-1/2 male NPTF on one end and a 2-1/2-12 male SAE 37 degree (JIC) flare on the other, with a 2 inch tube O.D. callout.

Got a 2" NPT line on a pump outlet that I need to tie into a 2-1/2-12 JIC fitting on the return side. This straight adapter from Eaton Aeroquip handle that kind of crossover?
