got a hose end that’s 3/8-19 BSPP female and i need to hook it to a 3/8-18 NPT port. is this the right adapter?

It bridges a 3/8-18 male NPT thread on one side to a 3/8-19 female BSPP swivel on the other, so it fits that exact NPT-to-BSPP connection when those are the thread sizes you are working with.

Got a piece of equipment with a BSPP female port on it and everything else on the line is NPT. This the right part to bridge that gap?

That's what this adapter is built for. One end is a 3/8-18 male NPT thread, which screws into standard pipe fittings on your NPT side. The other end is a 3/8-19 female BSPP swivel, so it accepts a British Parallel male fitting. The swivel feature makes it a lot easier to get everything lined up without having to torque the whole assembly just to get the fitting seated right.
