does this plug need any kind of thread sealant when you install it, or does it go in dry?

No sealant needed on this one. The M14 x 1.5 threading is precision-cut to spec, so it seats without tape or compound. Just thread it in clean and torque it appropriately for the application.

Will this plug work on my Komatsu excavator? I need to replace a leaky one.
