Does this adapter need any thread sealant when you're putting it together, or is it good to go as-is?

No sealant needed on this one. The JIC 37-degree flare on one end and the M24 x 1.5 male metric on the other both rely on mechanical sealing at the connection points, so adding thread sealant would actually work against you. Just make sure your mating fittings are clean and in good shape before you torque it down.
