Product Questions & Answers

got a 3/4-16 JIC port and just need to cap it off, is this the right plug?
Question by: Floyd H on Apr 25, 2025, 1:31 PM
For a 3/4-16 SAE 37 degree (JIC) flare connection, this is a straight hex plug with a 3/4-16 male JIC 37 degree flare end, so it matches that thread and flare style for plugging a port.

Will this plug work for hydraulic systems using a 3/4-16 JIC fitting?
Question by: Shane W on Jul 20, 2025, 3:47 PM
It's specifically made to fit hydraulic, instrumentation, and chemical processing systems that use a 3/4-16 male JIC 37-degree flare.

fitting's got 3/4-16 threads on it, that the same as standard JIC fittings I'd be running on most hydraulic lines?
Question by: Pete W on Aug 28, 2025, 8:48 AM
Yes, 3/4-16 is the standard thread pitch for 3/4" JIC fittings, so it'll match up with other JIC 37-degree flare components running that same thread size. The plug seats with a 37-degree flare angle, which is what the SAE JIC standard calls for. Worth confirming your mating port also uses that same flare spec before you wrench it in.

got a JIC 37 degree port that needs capping off on a hydraulic manifold, this the right plug for that?
Question by: Harold B on Jul 28, 2025, 2:51 PM
For a 3/4-16 JIC 37 degree flare port, yes, this is the correct plug. The 37 degree flare seating matches the JIC standard, so it seats properly without needing a separate seal. It's a hex plug, meaning you torque it in with a wrench rather than threading it in by hand, which keeps it from backing out under pressure. Eaton Aeroquip makes this part to a consistent standard, so fitment on a standard JIC port is straightforward.
