JIC fittings use a 37 degree flare seat as their standard connection angle, so yes, this plug is built to mate directly with that thread and seat geometry. The 3/8-24 male thread is the standard JIC size for that fitting family. When you thread this into a female JIC port, the flared seating surface is what creates the seal, not a separate O-ring or gasket. It is a straight plug, meaning there is no elbow or offset, just a direct cap for an open JIC port you need to close off.
