Will this here fitting work with a standard -04 hose?

Does this fitting need any kind of mandrel or special tool to get it onto the hose, or can you just push it on and go?

No mandrel is required for this one. The socketless design lets you install it directly onto the hose without any press equipment or special tooling. You do need to cut the hose at 0.7 inches for proper fitment, but beyond that the installation is pretty straightforward.

trying to tuck a hose in a tight spot, is this one a 90 elbow with a swivel jic female on it?

For routing in cramped areas, it gives you a 90 degree elbow and a 7/16-20 female JIC 37 degree flare swivel on one end, with the other end made for -04 line hose or tube connections.
