Does this fitting need any kind of thread sealant when you put it together, or does it go on dry?

No sealant needed on this one. The 7/16-20 female swivel end meets SAE 37 standards, which means the sealing happens at the 37-degree flare seat itself. Thread sealant would actually be out of place here and could cause problems with the connection. Just make sure your mating surface is clean and in good shape and you're good to go.

trying to replace a 90 degree hose end, is this the one with the 7/16-20 female swivel for a -04 hose?
