i’ve got 1-5/8-12 JIC lines, does this tee keep everything the same size on the run and the branch?

All three ends are 1-5/8-12 JIC 37 degree flare. The run is female swivel on one side to male on the other, and the branch is also male, so you stay in the same thread size across the tee.

that's correct. This adapter is a tee, so it has three openings, one female and two male, all with 1-5/8-12 JIC 37 degree flare.

All three connections on this fitting are 1-5/8-12 JIC 37 degree flare. The run ports use a male JIC on one end and a female swivel JIC on the other, with the branch also at that same thread size. So yes, every port is matched to the same 1-5/8-12 JIC specification.
