got a hose end that’s 1-5/16-12 female JIC swivel, will this adapter step it down to a 3/4-16 male JIC without any funny business

Function-wise, it is a straight reducer adapter that goes from a 1-5/16-12 female JIC 37 degree flare swivel on one side to a 3/4-16 male JIC 37 degree flare on the other, so it’s meant for exactly that size reduction in JIC flare connections.

Yeah, that's exactly what this adapter is built for. Female 1-5/16-12 JIC swivel on one end, male 3/4-16 JIC on the other, both at the standard 37-degree flare angle. It's a straight reducer configuration, so there's no elbow or offset to account for.
