Product Questions & Answers

adapter's rated for 4 light spiral hose pressure levels -- does that mean it won't hold up on heavier spiral hose applications?
Question by: Pete Y on Jul 12, 2025, 9:47 AM
Correct. The pressure rating on this fitting tops out at what 4 light spiral hose handles. Running it on medium or heavy spiral configurations would put you past what this adapter is built for, and that's not a gray area. If your system calls for higher pressure capacity, you'd need a fitting rated to match. For light spiral applications it's right where it needs to be.

got a hose end that’s 1-5/8-12 JIC female swivel, will this mate up to a 1-5/8-12 JIC male without any funny business?
Question by: Jerry H on Apr 2, 2025, 11:54 AM
Match-up is straightforward since both ends are SAE 37 degree flare JIC with 1-5/8-12 threads, one female swivel and one male. It is made to connect a female JIC 37 swivel to a male JIC 37 in that same size.

Got a 90 degree elbow setup I'm trying to work into a tight spot on a hydraulic line. This one's got the swivel on the female end, right? Just want to make sure I can get it torqued down and still rotate to align before it seats.
Question by: Dwight M on Mar 7, 2026, 11:27 AM
The female JIC end on this fitting is a swivel, so yes, you can rotate it during assembly to get your line positioned before final tightening. That's exactly what the swivel is there for. Once you've got the angle dialed in, torque it down and it locks into place. Makes fitting up in confined areas a whole lot more manageable than working with a fixed elbow.

Hey, will this fitting work with a standard JIC flare setup? Just want to make sure before I order.
Question by: Kirk H on Apr 29, 2025, 4:14 PM
it's made to work with SAE 37-degree flare connections. On one side, you’ve got the female swivel, and on the other, a male JIC 37-degree flare.
