Product Questions & Answers

Will this adapter work with standard JIC fittings?
Question by: Cindy B on Apr 17, 2025, 8:09 AM
Yes, this steel adapter is designed with a 1-1/16-12 Female JIC 37 deg Flare Swivel on one end and a 1-1/16-12 Male JIC 37 deg Flare on the other, so it's made to be compatible with other standard JIC fittings using those thread sizes and flare angles.

fitting says it's rated for pressures through 4 light spiral hose -- does that mean it won't hold up on heavier duty lines?
Question by: Wayne H on Jun 8, 2025, 10:53 AM
That rating is a pressure ceiling tied to 4 light spiral hose classifications. If your system runs hose rated above that range, this adapter is not the right pick. For lines that stay within that pressure band, it fits the job just fine. Matching the adapter rating to your hose spec is what keeps everything working like it should.

got a hose end that’s 1-1/16-12 female JIC swivel. is this the right 90 degree piece to hook it to a 1-1/16-12 male JIC?
Question by: Brett B on Feb 11, 2026, 5:50 PM
With matching 1-1/16-12 JIC 37 degree flare threads on both ends, this adapter is set up as a female JIC 37 degree flare swivel on one side and a male JIC 37 degree flare on the other, formed as a 90 degree bent tube.

Got a 90 degree elbow situation on a light spiral hose run and need something that swivels on the female end so I can get it lined up without twisting the hose. This the right part for that?
Question by: Melvin R on Mar 6, 2026, 10:35 AM
For light spiral hose applications running up through 4 spiral, that setup is exactly what this fitting handles. The female JIC end swivels, so you can get your alignment sorted without putting any rotational stress on the hose during assembly. Both ends are 1-1/16-12 JIC 37 degree flare, and the 90 degree bent tube geometry takes care of the direction change. Eaton Aeroquip builds these to the 500454 series standard, so fitment on compatible JIC lines is consistent.

i’ve got a tight spot by the pump, is this the kind of elbow that turns the line 90 degrees and still stays JIC on both ends?
Question by: Patty T on May 15, 2025, 5:45 PM
Context wise, it is a 90 degree bent tube elbow adapter that keeps the connection type the same on both sides. One end is a 1-1/16-12 female JIC 37 degree flare swivel, and the other end is a 1-1/16-12 male JIC 37 degree flare.
