Got a hydraulic line coming off a pump that's running NPTF female on one end and JIC on the other, and the space is tight enough I can't run a straight fitting. This 90 degree elbow gonna work for that kind of hookup?

That's exactly the situation this adapter is built for. One end is 3/8-18 female NPT, the other is 9/16-18 male JIC with a 37 degree flare seat, and the 90 degree body lets you change direction right at the connection point without needing extra tubing or a separate elbow in the line. The A dimension runs 1.02 inches and B comes in at 1.11 inches, so you can check those against your clearance before you commit.

trying to hook a 3/8 npt female port to a 9/16-18 jic hose end, is this the right elbow for that?

For that connection, yes. It’s a 90 degree steel adapter with a 3/8-18 female NPTF pipe thread on one end and a 9/16-18 male JIC 37 degree flare on the other, so it’s meant to bridge an NPTF port over to a JIC flare connection.
