got a 3/8 female NPT port on a manifold and need to tie into a 9/16-18 JIC line, this straight adapter gonna bridge that gap without a bunch of extra fittings?

That's exactly what this adapter is built for. One end is 3/8-18 female NPT, the other is 9/16-18 female JIC 37 degree flare swivel, and it connects them in a straight configuration. The swivel end gives you a little rotational flexibility during assembly, which helps a lot when you're trying to line things up without stressing the hose or tubing. Will this adapter work okay in a marine environment? I'm worried about corrosion.

This Eaton Aeroquip adapter is suitable for marine applications, as well as chemical processing, pulp and paper, and even offshore drilling.
