trying to swap out an old straight adapter, is this one female npt swivel on one end and female npt on the other?

Connection-wise it is a straight adapter with 2-11-1/2 female NPT swivel on one side and 2-11-1/2 female NPT on the other, so it is meant to join two same-size female NPT connections in a straight run.

what industries is this adapter actually built for? seen a lot of adapters claim they work everywhere but fall short in rough conditions
