what thread size does this cap fit?

3/4-14 NPT is the thread on this cap, which is the standard 3/4 inch National Pipe Thread spec. Female NPT at that size is pretty common in hydraulic and fluid line work, so it drops right onto any male 3/4-14 NPT fitting or port you need to seal off.

does this cap need any thread sealant or tape to seal up proper, or is it good to go as-is?

No tape or thread sealant is required with this cap. It's built to provide an effective seal on its own when threaded onto a 3/4-14 NPT female port, which saves a step during installation and cuts down on the mess that comes with pipe dope or PTFE tape.
