Correct on both ends. The adapter runs 1/4-18 female NPT on each side, so you're threading male NPT fittings into it from both directions. The 90 degree angle lets you change flow direction without needing a straight union or extra components in the line.

trying to hook two 1/4 pipe threads together but need to turn the line 90 degrees. is this the right fitting
