i’ve got a hose end with 1-1/16-12 female JIC, is this basically just a straight union to join it to another same-size JIC?

For tying two same-size JIC 37 degree flare connections together, this is the straight union that does it. Both ends are 1-1/16-12 female JIC 37 degree flare swivels, so it is meant to connect two matching male JIC flare ends.
