what industries is this adapter actually built for? got a pulp mill application and trying to figure out if it'll hold up in that kind of environment

Pulp and paper is one of the listed applications for this adapter, along with marine, military, chemical processing, food and beverage, and offshore drilling. Those tend to be some of the rougher environments you'll run into, so the fit for a pulp mill setup checks out based on what this part is rated for.

If I'm running this adapter in a chemical plant, will the temperature range hold up alright?

It's rated to handle a minimum working temperature of -65 degrees Fahrenheit, so it should be durable even in some pretty harsh chemical processing environments.
