does this fitting work for offshore drilling setups or is it more of an industrial shop kinda thing

Offshore drilling is actually one of the core applications this adapter was built for, along with marine and military use, chemical processing, pulp and paper, and food and beverage use. So yeah, it fits right into that environment. The steel construction and its rated performance down to negative 65 degrees Fahrenheit make it a solid pick for conditions that aren't exactly forgiving.
