what industries is this adapter actually built for? seen a lot of generic stuff that don't hold up in rough environments

Eaton Aeroquip made this one with some demanding sectors in mind. It's spec'd for marine and military use, chemical processing, pulp and paper use, food and beverage processing, and offshore drilling. Those aren't light-duty environments, so the steel construction and the 73014 series build quality are consistent with what those applications require.
