clamp says 1.78 to 2.09 diameter range, got a hose sitting right at 1.84 inches, that gonna fit up proper?

That falls well within the adjustment range on this one. The clamp runs from 1.7813 up to 2.0938 inches, so a hose at 1.84 sits comfortably in the middle of that range. The 0.75-inch band width gives you solid coverage across the connection, and the hexagon T-bolt lets you dial in the fit pretty precisely rather than just guessing at tension.

got a hose that measures right around 2 inches, is this clamp gonna cover that or am i too close to the edge?

You are in the middle of its adjustment range. The clamp tightens down from 1.7813 inches up to 2.0938 inches in diameter, so a hose sitting around 2 inches is within spec.
