what's the thread size on this plug, and is it a standard NPT fit?
Question by: Brent M on Apr 24, 2025, 8:47 AM
1/8-27 NPT is the thread spec, which is a standard pipe thread size you'll find on a wide range of fittings, valves, and ports across most industrial systems. The male NPT thread gives you a tapered fit that tightens as it seats, so it makes a solid, leak-resistant connection without needing extra hardware.

got a little 1/8 pipe port i need to cap off. is this the right plug size?

For a 1/8-27 male NPT plug, this part matches that thread callout and is meant to close off a 1/8-27 NPT female port.

What size wrench do I need to tighten this plug down good and snug?

This plug has a hex head, so any standard wrench that fits a hex nut should work just fine to get it nice and tight.
