got a hose end that’s 9/16-18 JIC, but the port on the valve is 7/8-14 ORB. is this the right little adapter to tie those together?
Question by: Keith T on Oct 22, 2025, 9:19 AM
For that exact mix of ends, yes. It’s a straight stainless adapter with a 7/8-14 male SAE O-ring boss on one side and a 9/16-18 male JIC 37 degree flare on the other, meant to transition between those two thread styles.

got a hydraulic line on a piece of farm equipment running from an SAE O-ring boss port and I need to tie into a JIC fitting downstream. this adapter go between those two?
Question by: Judy B on Apr 10, 2025, 3:14 PM
That's exactly what it's built for. One end is a 7/8-14 male SAE O-ring boss thread and the other is a 9/16-18 male JIC 37 degree flare, so it bridges those two thread standards in one straight fitting. The O-ring boss side seals with an O-ring rather than depending on thread deformation, which makes it a dependable connection at that end. Straight configuration keeps the routing clean without any offset.
