trying to swap a hose end over, is this the straight stainless adapter that goes 7/8-14 male ORB on one side to 1-1/16-12 male JIC on the other?

Yes, it is a straight stainless adapter with a 7/8-14 Male SAE O-Ring Boss (straight thread O-ring) on one end and a 1-1/16-12 Male JIC 37 degree flare on the other. The SSP part number is J12-10GC, also cross-referenced as C1EW92.

This adapter is made from stainless steel so it's pretty tough and corrosion-resistant for hydraulic applications.

What's the tube OD on this fitting, and is it meant to run straight through without any angle?

Tube OD on this one is 0.75 inches, and yes, it runs straight through with no offset or angle. One end is a 7/8-14 Male SAE O-Ring Boss and the other is a 1-1/16-12 Male JIC 37 degree flare. Overall length comes in at 1.86 inches, so factor that into your clearance when you're planning the install.
