got a 1/2-14 male pipe port on one side and need to hook into a 3/8 JIC line, is this the right adapter?
Question by: Wade S on Jul 31, 2025, 10:03 AM
It bridges those two standards in a straight fitting, with 1/2-14 male NPT threads on one end and a 9/16-18 male JIC 37 degree flare on the other, which is the common thread size used for 3/8 tube OD JIC.

Got a hydraulic line running NPT fittings on the pump side and JIC on the other component, will this adapter bridge that gap without needing extra pieces in between?
Question by: Keith C on Mar 6, 2026, 10:51 AM
That's what it's built for. One end is 1/2-14 Male NPT and the other is 9/16-18 Male JIC with a 37-degree flare. So you're going straight from pipe thread to JIC in a single fitting, no unions or intermediate adapters needed. The overall length comes in at 1.69 inches, so it's compact enough to fit in tight hydraulic connections runs without adding a lot of bulk.
