Does the 7/8-14 JIC end on this thing mate up with standard 37 degree flare fittings, or is there something special about how SSP makes theirs?

Standard 37 degree flare is exactly what the JIC end is built to. The 7/8-14 male JIC thread with a 37 degree flare seats the same way as any other fitting to that spec, so it'll mate up with your existing JIC connections without any modification.
