What size tube does this reducer step down from and to, and which end is the female side?

The female end accepts a 1-1/16-12 JIC 37 degree flare connection, and the male end corresponds to a 0.75 inch tube O.D. So you're stepping down from the larger female side to the smaller male output. Both ends use the standard 37 degree flare seat, which is the JIC style most hydraulic lines in this size range are built around.

So this is just an adapter to go from one size to another, right? Like if I need to hook up a smaller line to a bigger one?
