adapter's only 2 inches long -- will that be enough clearance to get a wrench on both ends when I'm torquing it down in a tight spot?
Question by: Shane M on Oct 15, 2025, 8:26 AM
At 2.06 inches total length, it is a fairly compact fitting. In tight quarters, you may need to seat the NPT end into the port first before fully tightening the JIC side, since both ends will be close together. Most standard crowfoot or flare nut wrenches can still get purchase on it, but planning your wrench access before final assembly will save you some frustration.

i’ve got a 3/8-18 female NPT port and need to hook up to a -8 JIC line, is J8FC the right adapter?
Question by: Merle G on Sep 25, 2025, 8:59 PM
For that kind of thread changeover, J8FC matches a 3/8-18 female NPT on one side and a 3/4-16 male JIC 37 degree flare on the other, in a straight body.
