Got a transfer line running product that'll eat through aluminum fittings something fierce. This thing built to hold up, or is it more of a light-duty piece?

All wetted and structural components on this coupler are 316 stainless steel, including the body, cam levers, pins, rings, and safety clips. That grade of stainless handles corrosive liquid environments well, which is exactly what it's built for. Keep in mind it's rated for liquid service only, so compressed air and steam are off the table regardless of the fluid compatibility question. For liquid transfer in corrosive conditions, this is a solid choice.

got a 6 inch camlock setup already. will this female coupler swap with other brands or am i gonna be fighting fitment

Interchangeability is the point on this one. It is built to the A-A-59326 standard (the newer spec that replaced Mil-C-27487F) and also DIN 2828, so it will mate with other cam and groove parts made to those same standards.
