got a 4 inch camlock setup already. will this female shank coupler interchange with other brands or am i askin for trouble

As long as your other parts are made to the A-A-59326 standard (also known as the updated spec that replaced MIL-C-27487F) or DIN 2828, this 4 inch female cam and groove coupler is meant to interchange. At 4 inch it falls in the size range where the standard interchange is expected.
