what's this fitting made out of, and is it gonna hold up in a wet or corrosive setup?

316 stainless steel is the base material here, which puts it in good shape for corrosive environments. That grade of stainless is well regarded for resisting rust and chemical exposure better than standard 304, so running it in wet or harsh conditions is right in its wheelhouse.
