Product Questions & Answers

Will this seal hold up to some brake cleaner if I'm using it on a hydraulic brake line fitting?
Question by: Lee T on May 10, 2025, 7:40 AM
Stainless steel provides decent corrosion resistance, so it should be okay for incidental exposure, but I wouldn't recommend it for constant contact. It's really designed for hydraulic circuits that might see moisture or get washed down regularly.

got a 14mm metric port and a male fitting, is this the kind of seal that goes between em?
Question by: Floyd M on Dec 5, 2025, 4:19 PM
For a 14 mm metric hydraulic connection, this bonded seal is meant to sit between the male threaded fitting and the port or boss to make a face seal.

Got a metric port fitting that keeps weeping at the face seal. Would this 14mm stainless bonded seal be the right fix for that kind of connection?
Question by: Troy W on Jun 26, 2025, 8:58 PM
For a leaking face seal on a metric port, a bonded seal is exactly what you want. The construction bonds a metal washer to a captive elastomeric sealing element, so when you torque the fitting down it compresses evenly and centers itself automatically. That self-centering behavior is a big part of why these outperform loose washers in applications where repeat assembly is common. The 14mm size matches standard metric port fittings of that thread diameter, so as long as your fitting is the right size, this should address the weeping you're describing.
