fitting's got a 1/2" NPT on one end and the other end's BSPP, that right?

Correct on both counts. One end is a 1/2" male NPT with a 1/2-14 NPTF callout, and the other end is a 1/2" female BSPP with a G 1/2-14 callout. So if you're bridging an NPT-threaded component on one side to a BSPP port on the other, this is the fitting that makes that connection work without adapting each side separately.

Made from 316 stainless, this fitting offers good corrosion resistance, which should help it last in outdoor conditions.

got a hose end that’s 1/2 male NPT and the other side on the manifold is BSPP female, is this the right adapter or am i mixing it up?

For that combo, you are mixing it up. This fitting is 1/2 inch male NPT (1/2 - 14 NPTF) on Side 1 and 1/2 inch female BSPP (G 1/2 - 14) on Side 2, so it adapts from a female NPT port to a male BSPP thread.
