Will this here fitting work to hook up a JIC line to somethin' with a BSPP thread? They're both gonna be 1/2 inch.

It sure will. This adapter connects a 1/2" Male JIC fitting to a 1/2" Male BSPP fitting.

got a hose end thats 1/2 jic male, will this adapter let me hook it to a 1/2 bspP male port?

Fit comes down to the thread callouts. One end is a 1/2 inch Male JIC with 3/4-16 UNF threads, and the other end is a 1/2 inch Male BSPP with G 1/2-14 threads. It is meant to bridge a JIC connection over to a BSPP connection in a straight, inline setup.

Got a piece of equipment running a 1/2" JIC port that needs to tie into a BSPP line, this straight adapter work for that?

That's what this fitting is built for. One end is 3/4-16 UNF Male JIC, the other is G 1/2-14 Male BSPP, both in 1/2" size. Straight configuration means no change in flow direction, so it drops right into an inline connection without any extra fittings. The stainless construction makes it a solid pick anywhere corrosion is a concern.
