fitting's 41mm wide and 53.5mm long, will that clear up enough room to get a wrench on it without a whole lot of trouble during install?

At 41mm across the wrench flats, you've got a solid grip point that works fine with a standard open-end or adjustable wrench. The 53.5mm overall length gives you enough body to work with in most tight hydraulic connections runs. Just make sure you've got a couple inches of clearance around the hex before you commit to the install location.

got a hose end thats 1 inch JIC male, and i need to land it on a 1 inch BSPP male port. is this the right adapter?

For that swap, it matches up as a straight MJIC to MBSPP fitting with both ends at 1 inch. Side 1 is a 1 inch JIC male with a 1-5/16 - 12 UN thread, and side 2 is a 1 inch BSPP male with a G 1 - 11 thread.
