trying to match up parts here, is this tube nut the female M52 x 2.0 one for a DIN tube connection, size L42?

Part number SS5201L-42, is that an L42 tube size with an M52 x 2.0 thread, or am I reading that wrong?

You're reading it right. The L42 is the DIN tube size on Side 1, and M52 x 2.0 is the female thread callout for that same side. Both refer to the same connection end, just describing different aspects of it. The nut itself measures 60mm across the wrench flats and has an overall length of 24mm.
