Will this here fitting hold up alright in a salty environment, like near the coast?

What exactly is the thread setup on this fitting, one side metric, one side NPT?

Correct on both counts. The DIN side runs M20 x 1.5 male, which is a metric thread commonly found on European-spec hydraulic components. The opposite end is a 1/2"-14 NPTF male, which ties into standard NPT ports used all over North American equipment. So if you're bridging a metric tube end over to an NPT port, this is the fitting that makes that connection without adapters stacked on adapters.
