trying to swap out a straight union on my hydraulic line, is this one male on both ends and M16 x 1.5?

You are looking at a straight stainless DIN tube union with male connections on both sides, and both ends are M16 x 1.5 (size S08).

Both sides are M16 x 1.5 DIN tube on this thing, right? Just want to make sure before I go cuttin' into the line.

Correct on both counts. Each end is an M16 x 1.5 DIN tube connection, and both sides are male. So if your existing line already runs DIN tube fittings at that thread pitch, this union drops right in without any adapter gymnastics.
