got a line that’s 5/8 od, is this the same deal and what’s the inside hole on it
Question by: Roy J on Aug 28, 2025, 6:11 PM
The outside diameter is 0.63 inch, which is the 5/8 inch size. The inside diameter is about 0.50 inch, listed as 0.495 inch ID, with a 0.07 inch wall (0.065 inch nominal).

what's the working pressure on this tubing, and is a 6:1 safety factor already baked into that number?
Question by: Kurt R on Oct 12, 2025, 8:50 AM
The 1,907 psi maximum working pressure already reflects the 6:1 safety factor, so that figure accounts for applications where hydraulic shock and mechanical strain are considered considerable. If your system runs relatively smooth with minimal shock, a 4:1 safety factor could be applied instead, which allows for higher working pressures. On the flip side, severe shock and strain conditions call for an 8:1 safety factor, which means you'd be working at lower pressures than the listed rating. The burst pressure on this tubing is 11,440 psi, and the tensile strength of the material runs 55,000 psi per the SAE J524 spec.
