Product Questions & Answers

got a tight bend coming up, is this the annealed seamless stuff that’ll flare decent without cracking
Question by: Rhonda C on Jul 18, 2025, 4:06 PM
For bending and flaring work, it’s SAE J524 seamless low carbon steel tubing that’s annealed for that purpose.

what's the burst pressure on this 3/4 inch tubing and how much should I actually be running it at day to day?
Question by: Hubert W on Nov 10, 2025, 6:59 AM
Burst pressure on this tubing comes out to 13,933 psi based on the SAE J1065 Barlow formula. For everyday working pressure, the rated max is 2,322 psi. That's calculated using a 6:1 safety factor, which is the standard recommendation when hydraulic shock and mechanical strain are present at a considerable level. If your system sees severe shock or strain, you'd want to work even lower than that rated number since an 8:1 factor would apply in those conditions.
