Product Questions & Answers

What's the max pressure this tubing can handle without blowing?
Question by: Marvin W on Apr 1, 2025, 12:39 PM
The burst pressure on this tubing is rated to 7150 psi. Keep in mind the maximum working pressure is 1192 psi, using a 6:1 safety factor.
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 3, 2025, 6:25 AM
tubing says it's rated to 1192 psi working pressure, but we run lines with pretty hard pressure spikes sometimes. is that 6:1 safety factor already accounting for that kind of shock load?
Question by: Rusty W on Dec 2, 2025, 7:36 PM
The 1192 psi working pressure is calculated using a 6:1 safety factor, which is specifically intended for applications where considerable hydraulic shock and mechanical strain are present. If your system sees severe shock conditions beyond that, the manufacturer's note does indicate that an 8:1 safety factor should be applied, which would put your working pressure on the lower end of that range. On the flip side, if your system runs smooth with minimal shock, a 4:1 factor allowing higher working pressures can be carefully considered. The burst pressure on this tubing is 7150 psi, so there is substantial margin built in, but matching the right safety factor to your actual conditions is the correct way to size it.
