Will this adapter work with regular hydraulic fluid, or is there a specific kind I need to use?

It's designed to work with mineral oil, specifically one with a viscosity around 215 SSU when the oil is at 104°F. You can use fluids with viscosities from 80 to 400 SSU for normal operation, but avoid going below 70 SSU or above 1950 SSU.
