Threading is straight to the point on this one. It’s a 1/4-18 male NPT pipe nipple, so you’re working with that 1/4-18 male NPT thread spec on the part.

got a spot where i need to extend a 1/4 NPT line by a few inches, would a 4 inch nipple be enough to bridge it?

Four inches of thread-to-thread length covers a fair amount of ground on a short extension run. With 1/4-18 male NPT threads on both ends, it slots right into standard 1/4 NPT female fittings. Whether that's enough reach depends on your gap, but for tight quarters where you just need a stub of pipe to connect two fittings, this one does the job cleanly.

This pipe nipple features a standard 1/4-18 male NPT thread, so it'll fit right up with any mating female NPT fitting of the same size.
